A maximum of 500 people per day, including guides and porters, are permitted to begin the Trail every day. As a result, the high season books out very quickly.

LIMA CUSCO SACRED VALLEY AND 2 DAYS INCA TRAIL TREK TO MACHU PICCHU TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1: LIMA - CUSCO

At 5AM pick up from hotel in Lima and private transfer to airport and flight to the heart of the Incas Empire, the flight takes one hour. Welcoming reception in the airport of Cusco by our official tour guide and then transfer to selected hotel in Cusco (included).
Free morning to rest and acclimatize to the altitude of Cusco (3400m).
Around 2PM pick up from the hotel and begin of walking and bus guided tour to the historical center and surrounding ruins of Cusco.
The private transport will drop to the main square, the cathedral, the Koricancha as known the sun temple, and then to the Inca ruin of Tambomachay, Qenqo, Pucapucara and finally to the famous fortress of Saqsayhuaman, located on the head of Cusco and from where you can get nice view of entire city.

DAY 2: CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

Today you will feel better with altitude sickness.
At 8AM the tour guide will pick up you from hotel and then begin the guided tour to the most popular and richest valley of the Incas, this is known as Valle Sagrado de los Incas (sacred valley of the Incas).
Firstly we drive from Cusco to Pisac ruin, this located on the slope of huge mountain, completely guided and explanation about the terraces, and fortress and short walk around. At mentioned time descend in out private transport to town of Pisac to visit the Andean market (every day), good place to get some handicraft from local people.
Continue the guide tour we move along the sacred valley to Calca and then to Urubamba, where we will stop to have lunch at country restaurant.
The next place to visit is Ollantaytambo, one of the most important towns in the sacred valley of the Inca. This town still preserves the Inca houses and lot fortresses are still used by locals.
From the town will be nice climbing to reach the impressive fortresses located almost in the top of the mountain next of the today town.
Around 4PM return to our bus and aboard to continue visit the last part of the Inca valley. The final place to visit will be the Andean market and ruin of Chincheros, located on the highlands between the sacred valley and Cusco.
Around 6pm arrival to the hotel in Cusco and end of the service (B – L).

DAY 3: CUSCO - 104 Km - WIÑAY WAYNA - SUN GATE VIEWPOINT - MACHU PICCHU - AGUAS CALIENTES

At 5:00AM pick up and transfer from your hotel to the train station of Poroy. Travel by train to trailhead at Kilometer 104.
10AM after find the checkpoint over the Ollantaytambo River and start to walk guided by official English-Speaking tour guide into Chachabamba ruin located next of old Inca Trail, this complex was considered the second gate to Machu Picchu. 3 hours climbs the hillside leaving the woods for open grassland till lunch time.
The path continues descend to cloud forest crossing a nice waterfall and then arrive to the impressive Wyñay Wayna ruin, where you will have completely guided tour. Next to Wyñay Wayna ruins are facilities to use toilets and buy drinking water and short rest on the urban area of terraces. We walk slow following the ancient Inca Trail and getting the best view of the Urubamba Canyon and passing the cloud forest up to the final pass named Inti Punku (Sun Gate). From here you will have unforgettable scenery of Machu Picchu ruin and Wayna Picchu Mountain. At 3/4pm we arrive to Machu Picchu gate, if you like we can wait out or inside the ruins for nice sunset over the ruins. The first day entrance to Machu Picchu ruin is with additional cost of the entrance ($89 USD Per Person).
We continue downhill hike to Aguas Calientes (Optional bus down to Aguas Calientes - $5 USD Per Person). We advice to carry your headlamp or flashlight, just in case get dark on the way down to the hotel in Aguas Calientes. You will have chance to visit the thermal springs which are open until 9PM.
Today you will stay at nice and comfortable hotel in Aguas Calientes town; the room includes private bath and hot shower (L - D).

DAY 4: AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

At 5AMam after early breakfast climb up to Machu Picchu and arrive before sun rising over the mountains, also we give the easy way chance to take the first bus (around 5:30am) up to Machu Picchu ruin.
At 6AMam begin of completely guided tour of most important sectors of Machu Picchu which takes around 2 or 3 hours. And then extra free time to explore and climb Wayna Picchu Mountain, to climb and back takes 2 hours approximately. Then we include a lunch at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge – Hotel (Private VIP Service only), is one of the best places to have nice food feeling the Inca land atmosphere in the middle of nature. At 2PM you will have meeting with the tour guide at the main gate of Machu Picchu and aboard the tourist shared bus down to Aguas Calientes town.
The backpacker service participants will get their lunch in Aguas Calientes town.
Around 4pm will be the transfer by train to Ollantaytambo (sacred valley), this journey takes not more than 2 hours along the Urubamba canyon.
From Ollantaytambo will be a tourist bus to drop you to the hotel in Cusco and end the service (B - L).

DAY 5: CUSCO CITY TOUR - LIMA

Free morning for personal activities as shopping or optional guide tour around Cusco.
At 1PM pick up from hotel and transfer to airport and then flight to Lima and end of service (B).

    The best time to visit Cusco is between April and November, is the season without rain and sunny days. PERU ADVENTURE TOURS recommend to visit Cusco region just after the raining season (April), is better for pictures and less tourism.
