PERU ROYAL TOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1: WELCOME TO LIMA - PERU
Reception at the airport of Lima and transfer to the hotel - Overnight.
DAY 2: GUIDED CITY TOUR IN LIMA
At 9 am start the tour to see more capital of Peru. Francisco Pizarro founded Lima in 1535. It was a vice royal capital during colonial times. These days, it is a modern and cosmopolitan city. The visit began with the Paseo de la Republica, San Martin Square, Main Square, Government Palace, Cathedral, Archbishop Palace, City Hall and old streets with colonial mansions and Moorish balconies. San Francisco is the greatest monumental complex of colonial art in America. We will see its basilica with 21 altars, convent with a cloister and Clementina and Capitular rooms, choir and monk’s library, and the Museo de Profundis that has 111 canvases from Rubens School. We will also see the Sacristy, with canvas of Zurbaran and Rivera, Gran Patio ornamented with XVI century tiles from Sevilla, Moorish arcs and finally underground catacombs. San Isidro Olivar, with olives brought from Spain in the XVI century, the pre-Inca worship centers of Huallamarca and Pucllana, Miraflores Parque Central (Main Park) and Parque del Amor (Love Park). Afternoon is leisure for personal activities. Overnight in the selected hotel (B).
DAY 3: LIMA - PUERTO MALDONADO JUNTLE
Morning pick up from the hotel in Lima and transfer to the airport and one and half hour flight to Puerto Maldonado Jungle. After arrival in Puerto Maldonado, welcoming and take a brief tour of the village, before boarding a motorized canoe. During the trip you may see Caimans, clouds of Butterflies, river Turtles and other jungle life. After traveling 3 hours down river, arrive at the lodge located in the Tambopata Wildlife Reserve. You are now deep inside the pristine rain forest. Once settled and after a brief rest, take a short walk to a nearby small lagoon, returning in time to observe the fantastic sunset at "Sunset Point". Once back at the lodge, board a canoe for a short night trip to spot caimans on the riverbanks. After dinner at the lodge, the resident naturalists will brief you on the Amazon (B - L - D ).
DAY 4: TAMBOPATA -MACAWS CLAY LICK - WILDLIFE WATCHING
Early morning travel by canoe on the Tambopata river to Bahuaja Sonene national reserve, just in time to see the amazing sunrise, also to see many types of wildlife watching like Deer, Capibaras, Tapir in the deep rainforest. After short trip we will be in the best location to appreciate hundreds of Parakeets, Parrots and Macaws clay, around the springs enjoying their daily diet of salts on the banks of the river. Hike looking for monkeys. Return to the lodge to have our breakfast, plenty of time to rest.
After lunch will enter walking to observe wildlife, like peccaries, deer, and others, with the possibility to hear or see the tracks of them, or discovering a troop of monkeys traveling through the forest in search of food. Time permitting; we will be able to enjoy a relaxing swim in the cascade of the cat. After dinner relax in our lodge surrounded by exotic nocturnal jungle sounds (B - L - D).
DAY 5TAMBOPATA - PUERTO MALDONADO
After breakfast trip by boat to Puerto Maldonado (400m) where we will relax in our bungalows and enjoy a tasty lunch - After lunch travel on boat for twenty minutes on the Madre de Dios River, to the trail to nice Lake Sandoval, a beautiful typical rainforest oxbow lake. Short hike around the lake (6km). There we will board a canoe to paddle around the lake enjoying the beauty of the landscape and observing the wildlife, such as kingfishers, herons, hoatzins (unique pre historic looking birds), monkeys, etc. If we are lucky we could see the family of giant otters which live at the lake. We will have the opportunity to observe piranhas eating some pieces of meat and swim in the lake - Prepare on yourself for a spectacular sunset in the Amazon. Return to the lodge in Puerto Maldonado. After dinner we will be able to rest or go around the city on foot or on bicycle. We can enjoy the pool and its cascade surrounded by verdant vegetation. Optional to enjoy the night life on this welcoming city (B - L).
DAY 6: PUERTO MALDONADO - CUSCO - OLLANTAYTAMBO
Early morning breakfast before leaving from the lodge and transfer to the airport of Puerto Maldonado and then flight to Cusco. Reception at the airport in Cusco (3500m) - Transfer to Ollantaytambo town (2700m), is located in the heart of the sacred valley of the Incas - Lunch and leisure afternoon for acclimatization or optional visit to the Ollantaytambo complex - Overnight at the selected hotel in this wonderful valley (B - L).
DAY 7: OLLANTAYTAMBO - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO
Morning pick up from the hotel and transfer to the train station to board the train to Aguas Calientes town and transfer by tourist bus up to Machu Picchu (2450m), "The Lost City of the Incas". Complete guided tour of this amazing complex located over the Urubamba River and protected with the exotic plants and the impressive natural stone walls surrounding this Inca architecture - Back to Aguas Calientes by bus (optional 2 hikes down) followed by buffet lunch and then train to Cusco - Overnight in the selected in Cusco (B - L).
DAY 8: CUSCO CITY TOUR - LIMA
Morning after breakfast is the completely guided tour to visit the Inca/colonial remains located in the Main Square + Cathedral + Qokicancha = Sun Temple. The tour drives along the outskirts of the city up to famous fortress of Saqsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapukara and Tambomachay - After lunch transfer to the airport and flight to Lima. Arrival to Lima and end of our Peru Royal Tour (B - L).

This tour is designed for people want spend less time and see much more is possible. The tour don't demands good physical condition because there not hard activities to do. This package is dedicated to families. We advice don’t give candies or money to the kids on the way, where we will be hiking we suggest to give them other presents (pencils, notebooks, etc). If you like take picture of the local people is better to coordinate before with guide, he/she can ask first if they accept.
