DAY 1: WELCOME TO PERU

Reception at Lima airport and transfer to the selected hotel.

DAY 2: LIMA - PISCO - PARACAS

Morning interview with the guide and safety orientation regarding the gears and brakes of our motorbikes, the protective gear, and a description of the route. After packing 3 hours ride to the south of Lima through Mala, Cañete, Chincha and finally arrival to Pisco. After lunch motorcycle tour into the national reserve of Paracas, is the coastal landscape with sea fauna in this protected area and short hike inside to la “Boveda”, natural rock formation. Continue riding on the land ancient Paracas culture visit the Mirador de Lobos, huge cliff from where we can observe sea lions around the beach. Late afternoon ride back to the selected hotel (B).

DAY 3: PARACAS - ICA - NASCA

Excursion to the Ballestas islands (8 - 10AM) by speedboat, on this trip we appreciate the sea wildlife of this part of the pacific ocean and old and view of the candelabrum, is a figure drawing on the slope of the huge sand dune, located in front of the islands, navigate around the Ballestas islands were are hundreds of sea lions, Humboldt penguins, pelicans and many types of birds flying next to us. At 11AM motorbike trip to La Huacachina Oasis, here practice of Sandboarding and Dune buggy tour on the hundreds of the sand dunes. Optional lunch at the oasis and then 2 hours ride to Nasca (600m) by the south Pan-Americana highway, if the time permitting stop at the Maria Reiche museum and the metallic tower, from where is possible to observe three lines of the Nasca culture. Overnight at the selected hotel (B).

DAY 4: NASCA - PAMPAS GALERAS NATIONAL RESERVE - PUQUIO - ABANCAY

In the morning flight over the Nasca Lines in light plains to observe the mysterious and enigmatic line and figures drawing on the flat driest land by the ancient Nasca culture. Breakfast and after began the trip to Abancay, riding by good asphalt road, at km 8 stop at the aqueducts of Cantayoc, this irrigation channels is considerate the most development hydraulic engineering of all the Peruvian culture. The next stop is at Pampas Galeras national reserve of Vicuñas (4200m), visit the Vicuñas Museum, short walk to observe the wildlife.
Riding up to Condor Senja pass (4700M), amazing view of the Andes and of Lucanas Canyon, descend into the San Juan de Lucanas valley, and then stop at Puquio to have lunch and short rest. Afternoon continue riding to Chalhuanca (2800m) passing amazing landscape, Andean valleys of full terracing, rocky canyons, and finally arrival to Abancay (2378m). Spend night at the selected hotel (B).

DAY 5: ABANCAY - CCONOC - CUSCO

Early morning breakfast and visit the national sanctuary of Ampay, this area is dedicated to protecting the forest of Intimpa, bromelias and helechos all than are type of Andean trees. After half hour riding visit the archaeological site of Saywite (2400M), places with many models on rocks, the main rock model have 2 1/2m high, also places dedicated to adoration the sun good on the Incas time. Enter to Apurimac canyon, stop at Quebrada Honda from where is possible to see all river and canyon, Apurimac canyon is located between Apurimac and Cusco and is considerate one of the deepest canyons on Peru. Continue descending will be at Cconoc, there have lunch and plenty time to enjoy the nature thermal baths surrounded by river and forest. 3PM ride to Cusco, on the way will stop at real Inca fortress, name Lima Tambo. Enter to Cusco (3400M) with nice Andean sunset on the roof of the city, and stay at the selected hotel (B).

DAY 6: FREE DAY IN CUSCO

Leisure day for personal activities, all the motorbikes will be at the mechanic for maintenance (B).

DAY 7: CUSCO - SACRED VALLEY - OLLANTAYTAMBO

Full day guided trip to the Sacred Valley of the Incas by tourist mini bus to visit Inca sites as Saqsayhuaman, Qenqo, Tambomachay, Pisac ruins and the Andean market, Calca, Urubamba (lunch included) and Ollantaytambo - Overnight in Ollantaytambo town (2700M), located in the heart of the sacred valley of the Incas (B - L).

DAY 8: MACHU PICCHU RUINS - THE LOST CITY OF THE INCAS

Around 6AM picks up from the hotel and transfer to the train station to board the train journey for about 2hrs to Aguas Calientes town and then we will take a tourist bus up to Machu Picchu (2450M), "The Lost City of the Incas". 3hrs of complete guided tour of this amazing complex located over the Urubamba River and protected with the exotic plants and the impressive natural stone walls surrounding this Inca architecture – At mentioned time OPTIONAL hike from Machu Pichu ruins up to Wayna Pichu Mountain to get better views of Machu Pichu and surrounding mountains, this need to be confirmed at booking time.
Late afternoon back to Aguas Calientes hikes down. Stay at the selected accommodation of this town (B).

DAY 9: FREE DAY IN MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

Leisure day at this place, optional guide tour to Mandor waterfall (half day) or another visit to Machu Picchu and climb to Wayna Picchu Mountain. Any tours run on your own (bus tickets, admission to Machu Picchu, etc). At 3PM everyone needs to be ready at the lobby of the hotel and walk to train station and 4hrs journey to Cusco - Overnight in the selected hotel (B).

DAY 10: CUSCO - URCOS - OCONGATE - HUALLA HUALLA PASS 4820M - MARCAPATA (Or Quincemil)

Today we will say bye bye to Cusco city. At 7AM will be breakfast and offered by the hotel and then we will ride our motorcycles to the southern valley of the Incas, we will pass the inter-Andean town of Urcos and from there we will go up to Ocongate town (3540M). The main road from Cusco to the base of mountain range between the Andes and the jungle will be asphalt in good conditions. Just next of the road will appear one of the nicer snow mountains as known as Ausangate (6380M). ‘Apu’ or spiritual mountain, and pass grazing flocks of Alpacas watched by shepherds in traditional Andean dress. Once over the pass the eastern side of the Andes fills the view. Deep glacial valleys strewn with giant boulders and remote hamlets surround us we start to descend. There are many opportunities here to take exciting off-road shortcuts and further down the mountainsides are covered in steep terraces before the high scrubland gives way to cloud forest. We finish the day at Marcapata (2900M), a mysterious town cloaked in cloud by afternoon but offering spectacular views in the clear mornings. Hot springs wait to loosen your aching muscles, and a hearty meal to replenish your energy levels (B).
NOTE: In Marcapata exist only few small basic accommodations, there are not enough comfortable or luxury accommodation like in other places mentioned in the program or continue riding for about 2more hours to lower town of Quincemil, where there are several better accommodations.

DAY 11: MARCAPATA - QUINCEMIL - MAZUCO - PUERTO MALDONADO

After an energizing breakfast in Marcapata and a quick look around the town we start our rapid descent through the cloud forest. Dramatic green mountain sides meet in the valley bottoms where streams turn into rivers and waterfalls run like ribbons down the slopes. Coffee beans can be seen drying next to the road, while early morning fresh forest smell and fantastic views make this a beautiful downhill ride. As our road winds down the cloud forest flattens out and we enter the jungle. The second half of this day is spent fording streams and riding on more of an even road. Giant ferns and cliffs hug the roadside and hundreds of butterflies flutter around you. We will pass the jungle town of Quincemil (755M), a small gold mining community. Continue follow on the left bank of the river out of town and spend the time on the uphill and short downhill sections. The road is fairly smooth offering some lovely descents and some interesting stream and small river crossings which is a lovely way to cool off in the heat of the day! We pass through several small jungle villages including San Lorenzo and Inambari, constructed out of wood and raised off the ground to avoid the flooding in the rainy season. Though we obviously cannot promise wildlife the sorts of animals that can be seen include Squirrel monkeys, Macaws, Wild boar, Orapendulas, Parrots, snakes and Vultures. Toward the end of the day the road flattens out and we finish at Puerto Maldonado (185m), stay at the selected hotel (B).

DAY 12: JUNGLE TOUR - TAMBOPATA NATIONAL RESERVE - BOAT TRIP - CLOUD OF BUTTERFLIES

Today at 9AM pick-up from hotel and take a brief tour of the village, before boarding a motorized canoe. During the trip you may see Caimans, clouds of Butterflies, river Turtles and other jungle life. After traveling 3 hours down river, arrive at the lodge located in the Tambopata Wildlife Reserve. You are now deep inside the pristine rain forest. Once settled and after a brief rest, take a short walk to a nearby small lagoon, returning in time to observe the fantastic sunset at "Sunset Point". Once back at the lodge, board a canoe for a short night trip to spot caimans on the riverbanks. After dinner at the lodge, the resident naturalists will brief you on the Amazon (B-L-D).

DAY 13: TAMBOPATA NATIONAL RESERVE - MACAWS CLAY LICK - WILDLIFE WATCHING TOUR

Early morning travel by canoe on the Tambopata river to Bahuaja;Sonene national reserve, just in time to see the amazing sunrise, also to see many types of wildlife watching like Deer, Capibaras, Tapir in the deep rainforest. After short trip we will be in the best location to appreciate hundreds of Parakeests, Parrots and Macaws clay, around the springs enjoying their daily diet of salts on the banks of the river. Short hike looking for monkeys. Return to the lodge to have our breakfast, plenty of time to rest. After lunch will enter walking to observe wildlife, like peccaries, deer, and others, with the possibility to hear or see the tracks of them, or discovering a troop of monkeys traveling through the forest in search of food. Time permitting, we will be able to enjoy a relaxing swim in the cascade of the cat. After dinner relax in our lodge surrounded by exotic nocturnal jungle sounds. Stay in bungalows with shower and baths availability (L - D)

DAY 14: TAMBOPATA NATIONAL RESERVE - PUERTO MALDONADO

After breakfast we will aboard the boat and transfer to Maldonado Lodge, in Puerto Maldonado where we will relax in our bungalows and enjoy a tasty lunch. After lunch we will leave and travel for twenty minutes on the Madre de Dios River, to the access trail to Lake Sandoval, a beautiful typical rainforest oxbow lake. 5 km hike to the banks of the lake. There we will board a canoe to paddle around the lake enjoying the beauty of the landscape and observing the wildlife, such as kingfishers, herons, hoatzins (unique pre historic looking birds), monkeys, etc. If we are lucky we could see the family of giant otters which live at the lake. We will have the opportunity to observe piranhas eating some pieces of meat and swim in the lake!. Prepare yourself for a spectacular sunset.
It is time to begin our return hike to the Madre de Dios River to return to Puerto Maldonado. There we will stay in the modern and comfortable bungalows of Maldonado Lodge. After dinner we will be able to rest or go around the city on foot (B - L).

DAY 15: PUERTO MALDONADO - MACUSANI - MOHO

Today is long day uphill ride, ride on the dirt road passing small remote villages next to the road, will stop only for lunch at Olaechea town, located at the half way into between the Andes and jungle, where the cloud forest makes mystic and mysterious this zone. Follow riding uphill to Macusani pass (4780M). Downhill ride through Andean landscape, farmers along the route grazing their Llamas and Alpacas, some stop at Azangaro, Huancane and finally Moho (3880M), located on the left side of the lake Titicaca and friendly Andean people. Stay at Moho hostel (B).

DAY 16: MOHO - TIQUINA - COPACABANA

Late morning ride into Bolivia side, cross the border by the northeast of La Paz, ride on dirt road until Tiquina bay. Cross part of Lake Titicaca by motorboat (Bolivia side) and the motorcycles will be transferred by another boat. Ride uphill and then downhill to Capacabana (3800M). Afternoon free, spend the night at the selected hotel (B).
PS: In Moho exist only one small hotel, there are not comfort of luxury accommodation like in other places mentioned in the program.

DAY 17: ISLA DEL SOL - PUNO

At 7AM breakfast and then boat trip to the Sun Island. According to the legend, the Inca couple Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo appeared here and founded the Sun Empire. Visit the Inca Steps and the water spring fountain, two hours of trekking exploring and lunch at this sun island. After half day of guided tour come back to Copacabana. 3 hours of motorbike journey to Puno, on good asphalt road. Stay at selected hotel in Puno (B - L).

DAY 18: PUNO - SILLUSTANI FUNERAL TOWERS - CHIVAY (Colca Canyon)

Early morning breakfast and ride our motorbikes to visit Sillustani, this archaeological site is located 34KM away and the north of Puno. It is one the most important necropolis in the world. It stands at 4000M. There will visit the famous Chullpas of Sillustani, cylinder burial towers built of stone, (12m / 40 ft tall) where the Aymaras buried their important leaders. Just in front of the Chullpas is the lake Umayo, only adds beauty to the place, the Chullpas known as lagarto and Intiwatana are most prominent. Here you will have the opportunity to observe the wild guinea pigs, birds and other wildlife of the area. Continue uphill ride to Crucero alto (4800m), Lagunillas, National reserve of Aguada Blanca y Salinas, stop at this point to observe the wild Vicuñas. Finally will arrival to Chivay (3600m), town located on the left bank of the Colca River, visit the relaxing thermals baths of La Calera. Stay at the selected hotel (B).

DAY 19: COLCA CANYON - CABANACONDE - HUAMBO - LLUTA - AREQUIPA

At 6AM will be the breakfast and 1 hour ride on the left bank of the canyon, through typical villages, observing colonial churches, pre-Inca terraces, mountains and finally arrival to the famous Condor Cross, at this place is possible to appreciate the fly of Andean Condors or sometimes seating on the big rocks below the viewpoint, plenty time to spend looking this amusing and biggest bird in the world, also there are many villages at the deep part of this spectacular Canyon. Nice downhill ride to Cabanaconde (3280M) typical Andean town surrounded by green terraces. Cross country ride to Huambo town, located at the half up from the deepest point of the Colca canyon, considerate the second deepest canyon in the world. From here uphill ride to Mirador Del Ampato, nice scenery of MT Ampato where was founded the “Juanita” the ice maiden. Following dirt and abandon road we will be at Lluta and Huanca valleys, rarely visited by the tourism. Riding on good condition dirt road will arrive to Arequipa (2300M). Spend night at the selected hotel (B).

DAY 20: FREE DAY IN AREQUIPA

Leisure day for personal activities. We advise to visit the Santa Catalina monastery and the Museo Santuarios Andinos of the “Juanita Mummy. Stay at the selected hotel (B).

DAY 21: AREQUIPA - LIMA

The morning is leisure for shopping or personal activities follow by buffet lunch - Afternoon transfer to the airport and flight to Lima and end of the trip to Peru. (B - L).
Optional stay an extra night at the hotel in Lima.

Best time for Ride Between April to November is considerate dry season for the coast, high Andes and the Jungle. In the Andes and jungle the weather change quick even in the dry season, maybe some day will be simple rain for few hour and not more.

ADVICE FOR RIDERS

Riders need use to be riding long distance per day (300/500km). Good quality winter clothes, such as rain jacket, rain pants, windproof gloves, etc. Require valid international drive license and experience and knowledge about motorbike mechanism, will help the entire group to get good trip.
