The Ica and Nazca region stretches along Peru's southern desert coast, offering a landscape of stark beauty and enduring mystery. Inland, the Huacachina oasis is surrounded by some of the tallest sand dunes in the world -- a playground for sandboarding and dune buggy adventures. The region also holds fascinating archaeological sites such as the Chauchilla Cemetery, the Cantayoc aqueducts, and the ancient ceremonial center of Cahuachi. Cerro Blanco, the world's tallest sand dune, offers a challenging trek with an unforgettable descent.
