Full Day Of Rafting With Rapid Class II - III On Cusipata Section
The Urubamba River is as known as Rio Urumamba, this river is located in Cuzco, Peru. The Urubamba River runs from the high Andean ranges (south-east) near of Puno border down through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, pass Machu Picchu and then into the Jungle of Peru.
It flows for about 725km to its junction with the Apurimac River, where if forms the Ucayali River. This river got different names according the region; Vilcanota River is called in the beginning of the source located between Puno and Cuzco border. Wilcamayu River is called between Pisac and Ollantaytambo (Sacred Valley of the Incas).
THE UPPER URUBAMBA (Alto Urubamba) valley features a high population and extensive irrigation works. A number of ruins of the Inca Empire lie in the valley, including the Incan city of Machu Picchu. The upper part flows past the towns of Sicuani, Urcos, Pisac, Calca, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo.
THE LOWER URUBAMBA (Bajo Urubamba) is relatively undeveloped and features a significant indigenous population consisting of the Campa tribes, principally the Machiguenga (Matsigenka) and Ashaninka. Below Urubamba, in the Gorge of Torontoy, the river plunges from 3,400 to 2,400m in 32 km. The railroad from Cuzco to Aguas Calientes, popular with tourists headed to Machu Picchu, parallels this portion of the river.

URUBAMBA RIVER RAFTING TOUR ITINERARY
Pick up from your hotel at 9AM and aboard the private transport and one and a half hour drive to Cusipata section (Rio Vilcanota). This is one of the most popular rafting sections on the Upper Urubamba. There are good class II – III and the river fortunately is not contaminated and this permit a nice river runs.
After arrive to the start point of this rafting tour the guides will give you safety talking and provide you with all the proper equipment for rafting. The rafting includes 2.5 hours of floating in the river through the sacred valley of the Incas. This tour is designed for beginner and families coming with kids, the minimum age required for this tour are not less than 10 years young and not more than 60 years old.
After the rafting tour we takeout to find our transport to drop us to the camping area as know Casa Cusi, where will be available of full course lunch included in the tour cost. Free time for rest.
At 3PM aboard the transport and drive back to the hotel in Cuzco, where you will arrive around 5PM and end of this tour.
