Rock Climbing On The Bottom OF Misti Volcano
Thanks to the little canyons formed by ice age since 12 thousand years ago and water erosion during the raining season (Dec - April) today is possible to find nice rock cliffs on the slope of Misti Volcano (5825M) – Calambucos is located on the way up to crater of the volcano and offer great walls formed by andesite and granitic rock to practice rock climbing facing the city of Arequipa.
The different high of the walls offer many of routes for beginners to experts climber lovers – Some walls offer 70° degree of inclination and up to 60meters tall making good test your hands and feet so that your muscles can do their job, using the muscles in your arms and legs to pull yourself up a sheer rock face takes strength and control.

ROCK CLIMBING TOUR ITINERARY
At 8AM or 1PM pick-up from costumer hotel and then 30 minutes of private transfer to the upper zone of the city of Arequipa which is known as Chapi Chico or Calambucos (2700M) – The walls are located in small canyon where are chain of walls from 12M up to 70M high – From the car stop we walk for 30minutes to reach the exactly point to practice the rock climbing – The first thing to do is recognize the technical gear as helmet, rope, harness, carabineers, etc. – Safety talking and trick about the routes to be climb.
One of the first small walls will be choose to test your skill and climb condition/experience and according the result you will be lead to attempt to climb one of the biggest walls with support and supervision of the tour guide.
After 4 or 5 hours of rock climbing you will be transferred to your hotel and end of the trip.
