PRIVATE ROUND TRIP PUNO COLCA CANYON

At 7AM pickup from your hotel and journey by private car, on the way will stop at:

CRUCERO ALTO this is the highest pass between Puno and Arequipa, is above 4490M - 14457ft situated in the Santa Lucia province.

LAGUNILLAS VIEWPOINT situated on the half way between Puno and Arequipa, there series of beautiful small lagoons called Lagunillas, where is possible to see Andean Flamingos, others Andean birds and trout farms fishing on their artisan boats. Here stop to enjoy our delicious snack include the spectacular views and peaceful atmosphere.

STONE FOREST OF IMATA the giant stone forest have been eroded over millions of years by the wind, rain and humidity to form the shapes of trees, animals and human figures.

SALINAS AND AGUADA BLANCA RESERVE located at more than 4000M - 12900ft, inside this reserve is Pampas Cañahuas, almost behind the Chachani Volcano, where the Vicuñas (Vicugna) are protected is, is one of two wild South American camelids along with the Guanaco, which lives in the high Andes. It is a relative of the Llamas and the Alpaca. Vicuñas produce small amounts (about a pound per year) of extremely fine wool. It is understood that the Incas raised Vicuñas for their wool, and that it was against the law for any but royalty to wear vicuña garments.

From the Aguada Blanca and Salinas Reserve we drive up to the highest pass between Puno and the Colca canyon, the pass is named Patapampa (4850M) considerate highlands viewpoint, from where is possible to see snow caps and volcanoes, will stop every place to get short break getting pictures from all each place you like.

OPTIONAL: If the time permits downhill hike before to arrive to Chivay please let know us at booking time to be coordinated with the tour guide.

At 1PM we will arrive in Chivay town, located over 3600M, there will be served the lunch, and then transfer to the thermal pools of La Calera to enjoy the hot spring.

Around 5pm will be the transfer from Chivay to Cabanaconde (3280M) where is located the hotel with private bath and hot shower (3*).

The dinner will be served in this little town under starry sky (L - D).

TIP: On the road from Puno to Colca canyon the tour guide will stop at two places to use the toilets. On the second day the ride will be along gravel road (unpaved road) from high Andes to the desert of the coast of Arequipa, during this trip are available basic toilets in Huambo and El Pedregal. This tour includes plenty of snacks during the journey.

At 6:30AM will be country breakfast offered by the hotel and then we trake our transport to drive to "Mirador Cruz Del Condor", with good chance we will appreciate Condors flying on the one of the deepest canyon in the world. At 9AM arrive to the Condor Cross viewpoint and wait for the Condors flights.

After watch the flight of the Andean Condors we will OPTIONAL hike for about 2hrs along the canyon to see much more and enjoy the serenity of the mountains. We recommend to do this hike.

Continue our private tour visiting several remote villages on the right bank of Colca canyon, where is possible to see colonial churches, handicraft markets and local, mountainous range and large area of terraces. Arrive to Chivay to have lunch and if time permit visit the hot spring of LA CALERA. Transfer to Puno through active volcanoes and snow-capped as Misti, Chachani, Chucura, Mismi, and Ubinas volcano. After 6 hours of nice journey arrive to the hotel in Puno located at 3800M (B - L).
