BIKE TOUR IN THE COLCA CANYON

At 8AM we start our daily tour by shared tourist van up to 19 or 28 people or private supporting vehicle (Private Service only) to the second deepest canyon in the world, driving on the left side of Chachani mountain (6070M), continue going up to 4400M, is a Natural Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca, is the nature habitat for the Vicuñas, one of South American camelidos, groups of Llamas, Alpacas, small lagoons next to the road (Bofedales).

At 11AM arrival to the highest pass named Patapampa (4850M) from here you viewing nice mountainous range, death and active volcanoes such us Ampato, Coropuna, Ubinas and large extended of landscape. At 1PM enter to the capital of Caylloma province, this town is named Chivay (3600M) and considerate the most important commercial town in all Colca canyon. Lunch at Chivay (excluded) and then continue biking on le right bank of Colca River through pre-Incas terracing and local people working on their daily activities. After around 2 hours arrive to Yanque village (3400M) and then more downhill biking to the hot spring pools (45ºC) located next of the Colca River - Enough time to enjoy the thermal bath and then transfer to the accommodation in Chivay - Free evening for personal activities.

ALTERNATIVE VISIT COLCA PLANETARIUM FOR $10 USD PER PERSON: At 7PM we invite you to immerse in the mysteries of the Colca Valley sky and enjoy the performance Colca deep Canyon, deep sky. You can learn how the ancient inhabitants of the Andes interpreted the night sky according to their myths and beliefs. The performances include projecting constellations in the Planetarium dome as well as observing the stars of Colca`s sky through a professional telescope – The visit to the planetarium can be arranged at booking time or few hours before the projection under coordination with your tour guide.

At 6AM will be breakfast offered by the accommodation and group transfer (2hrs) along the Colca valley to Mirador Cruz Del Condor, at this place is possible to appreciate the fly of Condors or sometimes seating on the big rocks around the cliffs - The time to spend at the mirador will no more than two hours looking this amazing and biggest bird in the world, also viewing many villages at the deepest part in this Canyon.

Around 10AM we take again our mountain bikes for xc style biking on asphalt road along the right side of this canyon - Today the bike trip will be around 2 hours only thanks to limit of time, the final section for biking will be downhill to Wayra Punku viewpoint and then to Choquetico viewpoint to end the bike trip and from there transfer by car to Chivay to have lunch (excluded) or for personal activities till 1PM and then join the main group bus and drive to Arequipa for about 4 hours and drop-off at your hotel and end of service.
