One Day Off Beaten Path At Chachani Mountain
Puka Q'ello Valley Trekking is a challenge and adventure activity between 5000M and 3400M about sea level. The etymology says “Puka Q’ello” comes from ancient Quechua language and means “Orange”. This is right because this trekking is done through a nice colorful arid valley on the north side of Chachani Mountain (6070M), where is a small region of the mountain were painted by volcano activities. The amazing geological scenery is a perfect location for testing your trekking skill on high altitude.
This day trek through Puka Q'ello Valley (Orange Valley) is suitable for everyone wanting to experience downhil trekking and be awarded seeing wildlife as Deers, Vicuñas, Huanacos, Andean Eagles, Chinchilla's, Andean Foxes, and in some days is possible to see Andean Condors flying around.

PUKA Q'ELLO VALLEY TREKKING ITINERARY
At 7AM every participants need to be at PERU ADVENTURE TOURS office (Calle Rivero 509 - DownTown). Latecomers or not-shows can't be refunded..
We will use one of our jeep's to travel for about 3hrs to the bakcisde of Chachani Mountain, which is the national reserve of Aguada Blanca and Salinas (366,936 hectares). The first 2hrs will be on paved road and the last hour will be challenge off-roading on very steep and dirty road up to 5000M of altitude. Little time to check all our trekking gear, water, walking poles are recommended, good trekking boots, etc.
Around 10AM we begin our downhill trek through volcanic region - The first attraction of this challenge trekking will be the view of little rocky volcanoe on the left side of the valley.
This trek includes amazing downhill from 5000M down to 3400M about sea level (16km - 9.32miles), for about 4hrs passing the orange valley as known as Puka Q'ello valley, decorated with wildlife as Vicuñas and Huanacos and they natural habitat.
The trail follow a nice valley overlooking away mountains and volcanoes as Sabancaya, which offer us tens of daily 25 explosions with dense gas-and-ash-plumes up 2km above the summit and drifted in multiple directions. Next to Sabancaya volcano we will see another huge snow-mountain as known as Ampato (6288M), where Juanita mummy as known as "Ice maiden princess", was found in 1995 by the american Johan Reinhard.
Between 12M and 1PM and on the half way down we will find another natural view point, and take rest and enjoy our picnic view amazing panorama around.
2 hrs more of downhill trekking on steep switchback path we will arrive to the end of the trail (3400M), where will be waiting our car and then you will transferred for about 1hr to your hotel in Arequipa and end of service.

TREK DISTANCE AND TIMING
The downhill trek distance will be 15KM from 5100M to 3430M following single track through wild sceneries and passing small forest of Queña trees and amazing views. The trek timing will be around 5hrs, everything will be according your trekking skills..
